It has been my personal practice to perform a fresh installation to my personal computers and laptops, at least twice a year.
You know lar.. as we use the system, it keeps collecting unnecessary stuff from the Internet, etc. In the end, lots of space wasted, the system starts to slow down bla bla bla… and more table banging LOL..
Today.. I’ll start with the laptops.. one day job for each laptop!
Some photos to follow later (after I reinstalled all my applications).
Applications that I must have:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Adobe Reader 9.0
- Microsoft Office 2007
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro
Applications that I use to manage my websites:
- phpBB - www.rumahdayak.com
- WordPress - www.uchukeling.com
- Xampp (for me to test new scripts offline)
- CoreFTP Lite
- PSPad - for php coding
Applications that I have fun with:
- Yahoo! Messenger Vista
The hardwares that connect to my system
- Brother Fax 2820
- HP Deskjet D1360 (SOHO based color printer)
- CanoScan LIDE 25

What I normally do is, I’ll create a standard image (eg: using norton ghost) from a fresh installation. So next time, if there’s the urge to reformat my machine, i’ll just restire the image which takes approx. 30 mins to complete vs your one day job.

Hi headsteadi, yes, that is another way of doing it. However, I have choosen the slower method considering that some of the application may have been updated over the 6-7 months period.
Nevertheless, if I have the time in my next reinstallation process, maybe, I will documented the process for new users on how to do it using Norton Ghost.
Thanks, bro!
