Landed.. the aircraft that flown our PM to Miri.
The Arrival
Our Prime Minister’s arrival was greeted by about 4,000 people from all walks of life. Party supporter, government employees and the residence of Miri.
It was sad to note that Global Upline didn’t attend to the needs of the people who came to welcome the PM. Some came all the way from Bakong District and as early as 1.00pm and had missed their lunch, but wasn’t attended to by the staff of Global Upline. At least some bottled drink being distributed would cleanse the thirst of these supporters.

Senator Empiang Jabu welcome our PM.
The Prime Minister landed at about 3.15pm and Senator Empiang Jabu was given the honour to invite the Prime Minister.

Prior to the Prime Minister’s arrival, it is common to see some work done around Miri. Last Saturday, we can see CMS Works doing maintenance work at the Miri By-pass / Riam Road traffic lights. And, this one is still ongoing just a few hours before Pak Lah’s arrival.

The never ending story…
I couldn’t help but keep wondering why the authority couldn’t solve this sinking road problem. It has been like that since a few years ago. Miri as a major oil and gas city in Malaysia, with its advance geology technology, and our engineers capability of building good roads up the Genting Highlands, this is something YB Dato Seri Samy Vellu should be solving fast. I do hope the SG plate drive along this side of the lane. Let him feel the bump which Mirian feels everyday. Don’t mention the numerous accidents that have happen at that portion.

Our Prime Minister, YB Datuk Patinggi Abdullah Badawi will be visiting Miri from 12th-13th November that is next week. From the car sticker that I get, it is working visit where YB Prime Minister will be officiating the Pujut Flyover followed by a dinner with the community heads and others.
I attended the second meeting to discuss the visit and was informed that Tan Sri Ting Pek Khiing will be sponsoring the event, from logistic support to food catering. And, we are supposed to bring 1,000 strong supporters to the event!
So, if you are planning to travel around Miri on Monday, my advise is to use the GK Supermarket roundabout towards Piasau Industrial and Krokop to the Sunflower Centre traffic lights.
The roads leading to the Pujut Flyover would be closed from 2.00pm onwards, and with Tan Sri Ting, YB Datuk Patinggi George Chan, YB Dato Seri Samy Vellu, YB Pehin Sri Taib and our YB Prime Minister delivering their speeches, I think the function would end by 6 pm.

LOL.. I hope to meet you there. For the time being, if you don’t see anything technically concrete being done on that portion of Airport Road, vote the DAP then!
